Co-Founder & General Manager

Stephen Ou is the co-founder and general manager of Room Key Studios. His path brings together a background in the arts and a focus on business strategy. Stephen studied Design | Media Arts at UCLA, where his capstone project, the Creative Artist Network, connected students of various creative disciplines across music, film, and design. He later earned his MBA from USC Marshall with a focus on entrepreneurship and social enterprise.

His experience in the Los Angeles arts community includes work with the Taiwan Ministry of Culture and curating exhibitions at Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles with artists such as Hao Ni, Chin Chih Yang, and Isa Ho. He also founded CatAttack Records, an independent label that supported UCLA’s underground music scene through production, branding, and merchandising. Today, Stephen draws from this range of creative and business experience to help shape Room Key Studios into a community-driven recording space; one that supports artists, nurtures collaboration, and gives emerging talent room to grow.

Music Producer & Film Composer

Edan Frei is a San Francisco–born music producer, film/television composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose work is trusted by Hollywood legends and chart-topping artists alike. With a dynamic range of experience working with everything from orchestral scores to hip-hop, funk, and even pop, Edan offers world-class music production services to a diverse clientele.

Edan combines natural technical mastery with raw creative instinct. As a classically trained violinist from the age of four, Edan taught himself more than a dozen instruments and had already begun writing and producing original music by his early teens. He went on to study at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, where he wrote, directed, and scored several award-winning short films, establishing his presence in the Los Angeles film and music industry.

Soon after, Edan was hired as Sir Anthony Hopkins’ personal music supervisor, recording engineer, and arranger. The two collaborated on the score for ELYSE, a feature film starring Hopkins. Edan’s recent work includes composing for Hulu’s Good Trouble, BET’s Diarra From Detroit, and the feature films Trap Jazz (Hulu) and The Beauty of Blackness (Max). He also co-scored Hats, a short film in collaboration with Common.

In addition to scoring for screen, Edan is an acclaimed record producer, producing music for top recording artists, most recently contributing to the upcoming album of Mexican hit-maker Junior H.

Peter

Co-Founder & Operations Manager

Peter’s career began in the film industry, where he worked from 2015 until 2021. Peter’s expertise in high-level production management was forged in the fast-paced world of the film industry. For over six years, he coordinated large-scale commercial campaigns for world-class brands like Lexus, Chipotle, Home Depot, Uber, and ESPN. This broad production background gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to bring creative visions to life - and the importance of building a space where that process can thrive.

Today, Peter brings that experience to Room Key Studios, helping shape it into a reliable, welcoming, and high-performing professional recording environment for the next generation of music creators.
